FAQs

What do the ‘C’ and ‘G’ in C G salamander stand for?
The ‘C’ and ‘G’ stands for ‘Chinese Giant’.
Why ‘C G Salamander’?
There are days when I feel like a potato, and then there are days when I feel a sheep. But almost every time I write, I feel like a Chinese Giant Salamander.
What do you write?
I mostly write short stories and fantasy, but sometimes I like to take a break and script comics.
Do you draw your own comics?
I draw some of my comics, so if you’re staring at an amateurish drawing and thinking to yourselves, ‘Hey! I can do better than that!’, then it’s likely I drew it. The ones that look absolutely Kickbuttninjalion are probably drawn by someone else.
Is there anything you like more than writing?
No, but reading comes pretty close.
Who are your major influences?
Sir Salman Rushdie, and Sir Terry Pratchette.
If you were a soup, what soup would you be?
This is actually a very sensitive question, because despite being on the list of endangered animals, Chinese Giant Salamanders are still consumed in China.
Why should I buy your book?
There is no one else in the world who can tell you my stories the way I do. Besides, a guy who thinks he’s a talking salamander is bound to have a few interesting things to say, right?
